TRACES OF THE CITY

June 16 – September 12, 2010.

The chappell of the Museo de Arte Contemporáneo Esteban Vicente will host the show Huellas de la ciudad (Traces of the city). This exhibition, curated by Eva Navarro, brings together the work of five artists: Sofía Madrigal, Patricia Azcárate, Eloísa Sanz, Jorge Represa and Eva Navarro herself.

Through different artistc media, photography, sculpture, painting and video-art, the work of the selected artists starts from a common subject, the tracks the city has left in every one of them as individuals and how they change, transform or enrich the city.

This show invites the visitors to have access to multiple artistic lectures of the space, and to reflect on his own on the tour along the city.

This collaboration project between the Area of Audiovisual Communication and Publicity of the Universidad de Valladolid and the Museo de Arte Contemporáneo Esteban Vicente, was born in the seminar “Huellas de la ciudad:lecturas del espacio urbano” (Traces of the city: reading the urban space) that was held on 17 and 18 May, 2010 in the UVa campus in Segovia. This seminar brought together professors, writers, architects, painters and photographers, who reflected on the creative processes in art.

More than two thousand scholars and professors took active part in this seminar sponsored by the Council of Segovia and Segovia 2016, the candidature of Segovia to be European Capital of the Culture in 2016.
